Don’t you wish that you had that swishing voluminous hair that you see in the shampoo ads? But in reality hair goes through thinning and growing back stages on a regular basis. Sometimes you might feel that your hair has good body; while at other times, especially after a stressful period, your hair might look thin, and feel lighter. Then there’s also the fact that we also shed our old strands to make way for the new – during this shedding process it is quite natural for the hair to become thin. Or it is your genes that have simply given you very thin quality strands.
Whatever be the case, you don’t have to feel inadequate. With some styling tricks you can also swish your mane around.
Trick # 1: Use a volumising shampoo
A volumising shampoo clears away excess sebum on your scalp, and can lift the strands at the root. The shampoo has actives that form a protective layer around thin strands which not only strengthen the strands but also add mass to it making your hair look fuller.
Trick # 2: Skip conditioner, use hair rinse instead
Avoid using a conditioner on thin hair, the moisturizing actives in a conditioner whiles smoothing your hair cuticles can also make it limp. Instead, revive your limp hair by rinsing your hair with a blend of lemon juice, apple cider vinegar and water after you shampoo. Do it as a last rinse.
Trick # 3: Try serum and texturizing spray
To add volume to your roots use a texturizing spray. Mix some sea salt and warm water, along with lavender essential oil in spray bottle. Use that on your towel dried hair focusing on your towel-dried hair and let it air dry. To add shine and smooth out flyaways, take two drops of lightweight hair serum between your palms, rub then together and lightly smooth through your partially dry hair.
